Job Description

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a full-time clinical and academic Neuroradiologist with fellowship training in Interventional Neuroradiology to join a dynamic group of 27 academic radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital.  Preferred start date is July 1, 2018. 


The successful candidate will be part of a five member neurointerventional service (three interventional neuroradiologists and two endovascular neurosurgeons).  A significant portion of clinical time will be spent in diagnostic neuroradiology.  The successful applicant will be primarily located at Vancouver General Hospital, and will be part of a team of six fellowship-trained Neuroradiologists (www.neuroradiology.ca). 


All candidates must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed Fellowship training in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia.  All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  Subspecialty certification in Neuroradiology is desired.  


Teaching activities include Undergraduate instruction and supervision of Residents in Diagnostic Radiology and affiliated specialties.  The Neuroradiology Fellowship Program is based at Vancouver General Hospital, and currently accepts four Clinical Fellows annually.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, there are many research opportunities available throughout the UBC Neurosciences program including Neurology (including Stroke Neurology), Neurosurgery, Spine Surgery, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, and Otolaryngology. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the Division’s academic mandate, and preference will be given to candidates with a record of grant-supported research.  Clinical experience and research background in advanced MR techniques and head and neck imaging are preferred.


University appointment at the University of British Columbia will be granted in the clinical stream commensurate with previous rank/experience.
